My fiance and I are looking at doing a 7 day Alaska cruise for our honeymoon. We cruised Carnival (Elation) last August on the 5 day Baja Mexico trip, but were looking for something different this time around.

The two ships we’re looking at are the Norwegian Pearl and Holland America’s Westerdam. Has anyone cruised either of these lines? What was your experience? Where were there additional (and generally unmentioned) costs? Which would you cruise again, and why?

We had a great time with Carnival (we went with the kids on that one), but are looking for something a bit more "upscale" than the Elation was.

Me and my fiance’ are planning to take an Alaskan cruise tour with Holland America for our honeymoon and i was wondering if anyone had been on their ship the Zaandam and what your experience was like.

If so, would you go on that ship again? or would you pick another cruise line altogether? Also, this is our first time on a cruise so if you have any tips that you can share that would be greatly appreciated.

We are 1st time cruisers. We are taking Holland America’s Alaska cruise from Seattle in mid-Sept. 2006 aboard its "Zaandam" ship. We are taking 2 senior citizen couples with us. Will they have things to do? What do the staterooms look like? We have 3 Oceanview rooms. What can you tell me about food options – we are all vegetarians? What is included in the price we paid? Are spa services and fitness center use included or is there separate charges? What should we take with us for clothing? Will I have motion sickness? How to prevent/treat that? Any advice/info you can give me will be really helpful.

I have a friend that is traveling on the ship named Zuiderdam, Holland America ship. and I would like to have someone on board put out a bottle of wine at my expense to this friend. How can I do this?
